Who’s eligible?
-You have to be a student at the moment, at the University of Reading
-You have to already be a member (for this academic year) of either the ‘Practice Rooms’ or UoR Music ‘Ensembles’. In the case of the Band OMAs this applies to all the members of your band.
If you receive the award, you’ll be expected to:
-You’ll need to be willing (if you receive the award) to regularly join at least one of the UOR Music ensembles, or: if you play an instrument which is non ensemble, or are going for the band OMA – to do an agreed equivalent.
What instrument and what piece?
It’s fine to play any piece, and any instrument!
You’ll have 5 minutes to play your piece.
You can play a segment – 5 minutes of a longer piece – if you want
You’ll be performing unaccompanied
Bands of any size can apply
When are auditions?
13th October – 3:30 to 7:30 for Solo OMAs
22nd October – 5:30 to 7:30 for Accompaniment OMAs
10th November – 5:00 to 7:00 for Band OMAs (note – not 11th, as previously advertised)
